Masala Paneer Tikka Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Paneer (Indian cottage cheese) – 250 grams (cut into cubes)
  • Yogurt – 1 cup
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
  • Gram flour (besan) – 2 tablespoons (roasted)
  • Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chaat masala – 1 teaspoon
  • Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) – 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
  • Oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh coriander and green chilies – for garnish
  • Bell peppers and onions – 1 each (cut into cubes)
  • Salt – to taste

Instructions:

1.Prepare the Marinade:

In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, roasted gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, kasuri methi, chaat masala, lemon juice, and salt. Stir well until all the spices blend smoothly with the yogurt.

2. Add Paneer and Vegetables:

Add paneer cubes, bell peppers, and onion cubes to the marinade. Mix gently so that everything gets coated evenly with the masala. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to let the paneer absorb the flavors.

3. Skewer the Ingredients:

After marination, thread the paneer, bell peppers, and onions alternately onto skewers. Ensure the pieces are evenly spaced for proper grilling.

4. Grill the Skewers:

Heat a grill pan or tawa on medium heat and drizzle some oil on it. Place the skewers and grill them, turning occasionally until the paneer turns golden-brown and the vegetables are cooked with slight char marks. Alternatively, bake them in a preheated oven at 200°C for 15-20 minutes.

5. Garnish and Serve:

Once cooked, remove the skewers and sprinkle some lemon juice on top. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with green chutney.
